Show You Care: Our Annual Giving Campaign

We are proud to start the Carilion Cares, I Care annual employee giving campaign with exciting news—an anonymous donor has once again offered to match gifts to our Cancer Center Fund during the campaign, dollar-for-dollar, up to $250,000.

Our Cancer Center Fund supports the expansion of Carilion’s cancer program, including a new state-of-the-science building that will bring services together in a single location.

Carilion Cares, I Care highlights the important role each of us plays in helping our patients, co-workers and communities.

Campaign activities will take place throughout October. Show how much you care by making a gift to help a co-worker in a crisis, provide medications and equipment for a patient in need and more. You can find a complete list of Carilion Foundation funds on the Foundation site.

Also, show your support this month by using the Carilion Cares, I Care Teams background during your meetings. You will find instructions on how to use this background at the bottom of this article.

How To Give

There are several ways to give:

• Make a payroll deduction gift to the Carilion Clinic Foundation.
• Make a one-time gift with a credit card to the Carilion Clinic Foundation.
• Mail a check payable to the Carilion Clinic Foundation. Mail checks to the Carilion Clinic Foundation, P.O. Box 12187, Roanoke, VA 24023. Or by interoffice mail to the Carilion Clinic Foundation, Fralin House, 903 S. Jefferson St., Roanoke, VA 24016.

Where To Give

There will be several opportunities to give in person throughout the month. Check back to this article or the campaign page for a schedule of campaign site visits to see when you can turn in your pledge form in person, get your T-shirt and spin the wheel to win prizes.

This Year’s Prizes

To thank our supporters throughout the campaign, we will be offering several opportunities to earn or win prizes. Don’t miss out on your chance to win!

If you turn in a form or submit an online form the day of the campaign’s visit to your location, your name will be put in a drawing for their choice of a $100 gift card to Amazon or Walmart

Make a donation of $52 ($2 per pay period) and you’ll receive a 2023 Carilion Cares, I Care T-shirt!  

Weekly Prize Drawings

Employees who donate will be eligible for weekly drawings, including:

• Four Virginia Tech men’s basketball tickets to a non-conference game, plus a $100 Macado’s gift card
• Four Virginia Tech women’s basketball tickets, plus a $100 Macado’s gift card
• Family pack of four tickets to Illuminights, plus a $100 gift card for Outback Steakhouse
• Family pack of four tickets to Mill Mountain Theatre’s production of Elf: The Musical, plus a $100 gift card for Billy’s

End of Campaign Drawings

On Nov. 1, we’ll draw names for multiple $250 Amazon gift cards. The winners will be selected from those who donated or pledged to the Carilion Cares, I Care campaign in October.

To use the Carilion Cares, I Care official Teams Background:

Download the background in the Brand Center under Assets > Templates and Resources > Video Conference Backgrounds. Then, to use it on a video call in Teams, click the “More” button in the top right hand of your screen, then click “Video Effects.” Click “Add New” and upload it as a background.
