The Virginia Nurses Association and Foundation are dedicated to promoting fairness and inclusivity within our academic and clinical environments and advancing health equity within our communities through our collective efforts. At their annual gala event every three years, the foundation recognizes and honors 40 outstanding emerging nursing leaders, all under 40, who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in their professional practice, leadership roles, and significant contributions to the nursing field beyond the practice setting.
Among the distinguished recipients of this prestigious award was Charles. He is an active member of the Nursing Evidence-Based Practice Council and is deeply committed to developing, enhancing, and disseminating education concerning updated healthcare policies. Charles has made substantial contributions to research within the Cardiothoracic Surgery department and has established a Center of Excellence training program for the facility. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Radford University School of Nursing, further enriching the nursing profession through his educational endeavors.
