Andrew Tarasidis- 2023 VPhA Distinguished Young Pharmacist

Andrew Tarasidis, PharmD was recognized August 6th by the Virginia Pharmacy Association (VPhA) as The Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award.  This award is presented annually to young pharmacists across the United States. This award recognizes individual excellence and outstanding contributions to pharmacy associations and communities by new practitioners.

Andrew has had an outstanding start to his career.  He was the first graduate of the Community-based Pharmacy residency at Carilion.  Since that time, Andrew has been the coordinator for the program, as well as chairing the Marijuana and Tobacco Cessation committees for the Addiction Task Force at Carilion.  Andrew was named a luminary for Virginia’s Community Pharmacy Enhanced Service’s Network, tasked with developing innovation and programs within Virginia’s community pharmacies.  Andrew plays an integral role in substance use disorder and works with patients in clinic, as well as provides naloxone training for clinicians and the community.
