When Things Heated Up, CVI PACU Kept Their Cool!

A huge recognition goes out to the CVI PACU staff for their outstanding response during an unexpected fire incident this week.

When the situation arose, the team acted immediately, remaining calm under pressure and utilizing a fire extinguisher to quickly extinguish the fire and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Their swift actions and professionalism exemplified our commitment to safety and teamwork.

As if that wasn't enough, while managing the emergency, the team also recognized that a patient was en route to recover on the 4th floor and quickly intervened to divert the patient to the 6th floor to ensure uninterrupted, safe patient care.

Following the event, the team came together to quickly clean and restore the affected area after the fire extinguisher discharge, ensuring the unit was ready to safely receive and care for future patients. Their willingness to jump in, support one another, and rapidly return the department to operational readiness was a true demonstration of teamwork at its finest.
