Trauma Services Child Safety Day
On October 26, from 1-3 PM, multiple departments at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center participated in Trauma Service's Child Safety Day. The following departments had a Trunk or Treat set up to distribute injury prevention information and treats to almost 500 community members:
Infection Control, Emergency Department, Outpatient/Cardiac Rehab, Outpatient Orthopedics, Imaging Services, Mental Health, Cardiology, PCU, Carilion Clinic Safe Kids and Lifeguard 11.
Free helmets were provided by Trauma Services and fitted by volunteers from VCOM, snacks were provided by Dining Services, and assistance in event organization and planning was provided by Carilion PD/Security, Emergency Management and Maintenance.
Trauma Services would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all those who spent their afternoon providing a fun and safe environment for our community kids to celebrate Fall and learn about injury prevention!
