Thanks to the Occupational Medicine Sick Clinic Providers!!
Our Red Boarding Pass process for the COIVD-19 pandemic has recently changed to an automated testing process. Initially, we needed providers assigned to this process to ensure the appropriate testing was done, but as our testing capacity has expanded, and our employees are better attuned to what is needed, we have been able to make the switch.
We stood up the “Occupational Medicine Sick Clinic” with plans for on-site clinics (both in Roanoke and the NRV), but quickly realized that virtual was the way to go. We sent out a call to the float pool from Family & Community Medicine (FCM) for assistance with staffing the sick clinic and got some amazing help from the folks listed below. As many of them were able to return to their duties in FCM, the Occupational Medicine ACP clinicians stepped up, often working sick clinic calls into their already busy Occ Med schedules.
The sick clinic providers played an invaluable role in making sure our employees were safe to return to work. They dealt with frequent updating of procedures and the stress and uncertainty of the pandemic situation – both their own, and our employees’. I am proud to have worked with such a dedicated, committed, and caring group:
