Taking Care of Special Dietary Needs

Sheri Dale- Main PACU Team Lead- embraced the Carilion values when she became a true advocate for a patient holding in PACU. The patient needed a meal and it was late in the evening not a problem usually ,however this patient had to have a gluten free meal. Sheri went to the cafeteria to get an after hour meal box for the patient and their was no available ones to meet the dietary needs of the patient, so she bought them a salad, that she verified was gluten free with her own money. Sheri embodied the Carilion value of commitment and compassion by being a advocate  for the patient  and getting them the type of meal required by their dietary restrictions.
