Shayna Amos, ECMO Coordinator, receives new certification in ECMO!
The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) is an international nonprofit consortium of health care institutions, researchers, and industry partners. We provide support to those delivering extracorporeal life support through continuing education, guidelines, original research, publications, and a comprehensive registry of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) patient data.
The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) has announced the launch of ELSO Adult ECMO Certification (E-AEC). With the rapid expansion of ECMO application across the globe comes a need for standardized ECMO education to achieve optimal patient care and research.
It is a great honor to announce over very own Shayna Amos, Carilion Clinic ECMO Coordinator, has been one of the first providers to obtain this new certification! We are so proud of you Shayna Amos, RN, E-AEC!
Requirements to certify include didactic hours, simulation labs and clinical bedside experience. Shayna has been a pace setter for our program. Recently the team received the ELSO Silver Award Journey of to a Center of Excellence. We are excited as this program continues to grow. Thank you Shayna for your leadership for this very vital program.
