Rosie the Ribbiter

Melissa Crigger, Infection Preventionist and Employee Health Nurse at CFMH, has taken the FROG (Friction Rubs Off Germs) campaign to a new level. For the 2021 Hand Hygiene Day Melissa transformed the Frog into Rosie the Ribbiter. Rosie will be visiting staff to hand out Hand Hygiene Information and goodies.  She will also kick off a new program to monitor Hand Hygiene that will include patients. The new program will provide cards to patients to allow them to participate in hand hygiene observations. Patients who are able to participate will be asked to make observations for all staff coming into their room for one day. The card allows them to document what type of staff came in and if hand hygiene was performed.  We appreciate Melissa going the extra mile to promote hand hygiene.
