Celebrating Our Outstanding Ancillary Team Members
In recognition of Nursing Assistants Week in June, the CRMH Ancillary Council invited team members to submit nominations across several superlative categories to celebrate the exceptional contributions of our Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and ancillary staff.
We are proud to announce that Alex Pulido, 7W, has been selected as our 2026 Rookie of the Year!

| When Alex first joined 7 West as a day shift receptionist, it was immediately clear that she was no ordinary team member. From day one, she greeted every patient and family member with courtesy, respect, and a warmth that made people feel genuinely cared for. But Alex was never content to simply fulfill her role. She consistently went above and beyond, answering patient call lights to bring water, grabbing supplies for nurses and techs, and stepping in to assist dietary staff with meal trays. She saw a need and she filled it, every single time, without being asked. It was that same servant heart that led Alex to make one of the most impressive decisions we have seen from a new team member: she chose to transition from receptionist to Patient Care Technician. What happened next is what truly sets Alex apart. Before ever setting foot on the floor as a PCT, Alex went to the library. On her own time, she researched the role, studied medical terminology, watched instructional videos, and took detailed notes to prepare herself for the transition. That level of self driven dedication is rare at any stage of a career, let alone at the very beginning of one. And it paid off in every way. When Alex began her orientation as a PCT, she hit the floor ready. She asked the right questions, absorbed information quickly, and delivered care that left patients and families with glowing feedback. Within just two weeks, she had become the talk of the unit. Colleagues across disciplines were impressed by her professionalism, her soft spoken and patient bedside manner, her thoughtfulness, and her natural ability to connect with patients. Even during her orientation, Alex was volunteering to help other techs and nurses wherever she saw a need. Her time management was excellent, her skills developed at a remarkable pace, and above all, her spirit was pure. What makes Alex even more extraordinary is her versatility. On the occasions our receptionist called out, Alex stepped right back into that role without hesitation, managing the front desk responsibilities seamlessly while continuing to support the flow of the unit as a PCT. She never missed a beat and never complained. She simply showed up, adapted, and delivered. Alex is not just a promising newcomer. She is exactly the kind of team member and human being that makes 7 West a place patients trust and colleagues are proud to work. She is our Rookie of the Year, without question. |
