National Trauma Survivors Day - May 15th, 2024
May 15th, 2024, was National Trauma Survivors Day -- this is a day where we take time to celebrate the recovery and victories we see in our patients, thank our staff for the amazing care they give, and acknowledge the losses experienced by families and friends. At CRMH, trauma team staff participated in a healing well activity lead by chaplaincy services to help unburden themselves of the negative emotions that are carried around from witnessing the injuries cared for on a daily basis. Then members of the trauma team rounded to the inpatient trauma units to provide encouragement and thanks to staff for the care they provide. Chaplaincy lead a blessing of the hands as well to acknowledge the service of these staff members.
At 6pm, the Trauma Team, survivors, peer supporters, community partners, and families of patients and the team gathered in the Healing Garden and walked the greenway as a team as a Part of the Race to Rebuild to support the efforts of the Trauma Survivors Network on an International Level. CRMH was the 2nd Largest Health System Team internationally
Thank you so much for everything you do to support our trauma patients, survivors, and program!
