Nancy Altice Celebrated 45-year Anniversary at Carilion Clinic

Nancy started her career at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on July 1978 as a staff nurse in a Medical Surgical Unit. From 1982-1984 Nancy was a staff nurse on CCU and MSICU, providing patient care and family support to various critically ill coronary care and medical-surgical patients. Her next position was as a staff development instructor for adult ICUs and PCUs from 1984 through 1989. Nancy coordinated orientation and developed continuing education for nursing staff in ICUs and PCUs. She assisted with the development of our first Pediatric Critical Care Course before the opening of our PICU. In 1989 Nancy became the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Medical Cardiology. Since becoming a CNS, Nancy completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2009.
