Laundry Goodbye & Thank You!

On Friday, 09/22 the staff at Carilion Laundry (aka Commonwealth Linen Services) folded, packed and shipped their last linen order to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Carilion has had an in-house Laundry for decades. Since 1999, the Franklin Road facility served Carilion’s facilities with clean linen daily. The staff included Roanokers, folks from Franklin, Botetourt as well as immigrants from many different countries. At any time one time, between 15 and 18 different languages were spoken on the floor. Over the years, hundreds of people have passed through the Laundry. Many are still at Carilion. It was like a family. Thank You for serving Carilion, our patients and each other!
