Larra Newcomb, RN Advocating for her Patients - Promoting Antibiotic Stewardship!

Today we want to celebrate Larra Newcomb, RN on 10 Mountain PCU. She is very attentive to her patients' conditions and needs each day. In the past couple of weeks, she has twice noticed orders for Urinalysis with Reflex Culture in patients that did not meet criteria for a Urine Culture. Larra advocated for her patients to the physicians to have the Cultures cancelled. She was successful in her advocacy and saved possible false positive cultures and unneeded antibiotic usage.
