Journey to ZERO: NICU Celebrates 2 Years Without a CLABSI

Submitted by karamsey on

This week the NICU at Carilion Children's is celebrating a significant milestone in their continued COMMITMENT to deliver quality patient care.  Their Journey to ZERO, which has encompassed a variety of evidence-based practice changes, has resulted in achieving ZERO CLABSIs for the past 2 years.  The NICU team is dedicated to caring for the tiniest patients in the hospital; some infants weigh less than a pound at birth and may require a central venous line for weeks or even months.  These most vulnerable patients depend on the dedication, COMMITMENT, and loving care of the NICU team to grow and thrive so they can go home with their families.  Congratulations to the NICU team!
