Who are IPs? They're healthcare experts devoted to preventing and controlling infections in various settings. Their mission? Ensuring patient and healthcare worker and visitor safety  by implementing strategies to reduce infection risks.

At Carilion Clinic, our IPs come from diverse backgrounds such as nursing, public health, microbiology, and epidemiology, equipped with specialized certifications in infection prevention and control.

You might spot your assigned IP making rounds in your department, actively engaged in activities to bolster infection control and support patient safety. They collaborate with all units to ensure our facility remains a safe haven for everyone.
