Family in a time of Grief
Recently my wonderful husband passed away suddenly. While I appreciate the thoughts, the real thing that has saved me is my work family. I don't have relatives close and, with our son off at college, it was just me and Johnny. I was so devastated, there were days when I couldn't even get out of bed. I stopped eating and sleeping and if it weren't for the people I work with, I doubt I'd have made it this far. I work in IR and these friends all rallied around me to help in any way they could. They listen to me rant and hold me when I cry. They brought me food and made me get out of bed. They gave me money for expenses that I know they don't really have to give. They took my call and covered my shifts. My road to recovery isn't even close to over. I am still barely hanging on. And they are still there for me. Everyone from the EVS team, RTAs, office staff, nurses, techs, ACPs, providers and our manager all make me feel like I belong to not only a department, but a family. I can never thank these people enough for all they have done for me. I love you all so much and am so grateful to be part of IR STRONG!
