Deanna’s Attention to Detail

While reviewing charts for the following day, Deanna discovered a lab result that was positive and concerning. The patient was scheduled to come for her first infusion but there was nothing in the chart that suggested the ordering provider was aware of the positive result and whether the patient should or should not proceed with the infusion. The provider was made aware of the lab result, he reviewed her chart and deemed the benefit greater than the risk so we proceeded with the transfusion. Deanna’s attention to detail made sure this patient was safely taken care of.
