CRMH Trauma Programs Receive Outstanding Re-Verification Reviews!

Submitted by dwfreeman on

Our Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Programs at CRMH recently underwent a very successful tri-annual re-verification visit by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Office of EMS (OEMS).

The multidisciplinary review team made up of physicians, nurses, and administrative reviewers from the Commonwealth found zero critical/non-critical deficiencies during their site visit.  The review team had glowing remarks during the reviews summary meeting and even cited both programs as having the “gold standard” for injury prevention/outreach, nursing education, registry data entry, and performance improvement processes.

The Trauma and Critical Care Manager for OEMS has publicly referenced both CRMH Trauma Programs as “outstanding examples” for site visit preparation and performance improvement processes & documentation and highly encouraged other trauma programs across the state to reach out to Carilion for guidance.

Thank you to the devoted team members that make up our Trauma Team: Trauma/Critical Care Physicians, APPs, CNSs, Trauma Registrars, our coordinators for Performance Improvement & Outreach/Injury Prevention, the trauma leaders, and all others that help care for trauma patients in our community.

Congratulations to these outstanding teams
