CRMH Earns EPA's Energy Star Certification for the 3rd time!

Submitted by mcsotelo on

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) has earned ENERGY STAR® certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency! The next time you visit, check out the decal on display at our main lobby entrance – it represents proven, verified superior energy performance over a 12-month period. In fact, ENERGY STAR certified buildings perform in the top 25 percent of similar buildings nationwide! This is the 3rd year that CRMH has earned this certification. By meeting these strict standards, CRMH is saving energy, saving money, and helping protect the environment by generating fewer greenhouse gas emissions than typical buildings.

Thank you to our amazing Engineering & Maintenance department for the work they have done to make this building run efficiently. The work of this team, including LED upgrades and identifying energy waste and implementing solutions, is how we are able to achieve this distinguished certification.

And, thank you to all employees for being a part of our sustainability story by taking simple actions to cut energy waste - like turning off the lights in empty rooms! Here's to another year of cutting energy waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and doing our part to protect the environment!
