CRBH Celebrates its First Two Daisy Award Recipients
The 2023 Week of the Nurse celebration at CRBH was capped off with the presentation of the first two Daisy Awards in hospital history. Deneen Davis, RN and Karen Jones, LPN were selected from over 20 nominations due to their commitment to patients and co-workers.
Deneen, CRBH Inpatient Director, was nominated by a staff member due to her going "above and beyond as a manager and a nurse." She was recognized for lending a helping hand when the department is at its busiest and always staying calm on the most hectic days. The nomination continued to say, "She is so many people wrapped into one person. She is a mom, friend, and a therapist. She has just let me have a safe place to cry when I had a tough day."
Karen, CRBH Inpatient Nurse, was nominated by a staff member from Surgical Services regarding her going above and beyond to help out on a case in the middle of the night. The nomination went on to say, "During the surgery I needed several medications that were not available in our Pyxis as well as some supplies not available to us in our OR. I called Karen and, on several occasions, she ran and got necessary items so that I could focus on the patient and the surgery. The multiple steps and favors Karen completed for us allowed the OR staff to give the patient optimal care. Karen is a true team player!!!"
CRBH is proud to have Deneen and Karen on our team and congratulate them on their well-earned awards.
