Commitment

Many times, our complex care team Social Workers are tasked with challenges of long length of stay patients. Shiquita Scott recently was working with a patient that had been here for an extended period of time and was very complex. After overcoming numerous obstacles, the patient was able to discharge safely. Shiquita established a rapport with the patient and family so she came to the unit for the send off of this patient.. The patient was in tears to finally be able to leave. So many times, there is work going on in the background that we have no idea the challenges they face in doing their job. Shiquita exemplified the Carilion value of commitment. I appreciate her hard work to complete this complex case.
