Submitted by wfworrell on

Congratulations to Patchouli Emmons who was selected as CNRV’s 2026 Nurse Hero of the Night!! Patchouli had four nominations referencing her courage, compassion, and calming leadership. Here are a few of the comments from her peers:

“Patchouli is the best charge nurse to have when something goes south. She is always calm and collected and knows exactly what to do! She’s the one you want on your team when it’s busy or stressful.”

“Patchouli is someone you can always count on. She’s reliable, dependable, and brings a calm, steady presence to every shift—even when things get stressful. She helps keep everyone grounded and creates a sense of reassurance for both patients and staff.

She’s extremely knowledgeable and thorough, always making sure nothing gets missed. Her attention to detail and strong clinical judgment have been recognized with two Great Catch awards, which speaks to her ability to catch potential issues early and prevent harm. She’s someone both her coworkers and patients truly trust and respect.

Patchouli consistently goes above and beyond her role. She’s essentially a part-time educator and advisor, always willing to share her knowledge, answer questions, and support others on the team. She helps build confidence in those around her and makes the whole team stronger.

When a difficult situation comes up—whether it’s problem-solving, having a tough conversation, or managing a patient who may be deteriorating, Patchouli is the nurse you want there. She handles it all with confidence, calmness, and compassion.

She is professional, approachable, and leads by example every single shift. Patchouli truly embodies what it means to be an exceptional nurse, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the Hero of the Night Award.”

“Patchouli is cleared headed in a crisis situation. She is a leader for our team and is always able to answer questions for newer nurses.”
