CNRV Nursing Scholarship Winner- Logan Underwood

Each year, during the month of April and leading up to Week of the Nurse in early May, CNRV employees are extended an offer to apply for the CNRV Nursing Scholarship. This scholarship was created in 2019 to provide financial assistance to a Carilion New River Valley Medical Center employee who is enrolled in an accredited school of nursing seeking a degree. This scholarship is made possible by generous donations to the Carilion Clinic Foundation by the staff and physicians of CNRV. The donations often come from fundraisers such as Clouds Clothing, cook outs and food trucks. A small committee of staff from CNRV reviewed several applications and this years’ winner is Logan Underwood.

Logan is an RN in the ED is currently pursuing an RN-BSN nursing degree with a long-term goal of his MSN and a role in unit or organizational leadership. He has an established commitment not only to his education but also to his community through being an EMT and training new hire Communication Officers to efficiently and accurately dispatch both Police and Fire/Rescue calls for service.
