CFMH's Candi Holland of Imaging Services Goes the Extra Mie For Surgery Patient
submitted by Nicole Amos, NRCMA, General Surgery of Rocky Mount
Had a patient in the OR that just had a double procedure completed with a discovery of cancer. Two CT's needed to be scheduled as a result of this which required oral contrast to be given to the patient. Patient was confirmed to still be in the recovery area of the OR. After scheduling CT's with Candi, it was requested if she could put a label on the contrast with the instructions for the patient and there would be someone from the OR or the patient coming to get it (I was in clinic at the office and unable to deliver it myself). Candi volunteered to make the errand herself to ensure the patient had the contrast and no questions. She was busy - as imaging scheduling usually is - but it was especially busy this day, and to have her offer to take a moment to get the contrast to the patient was not only GREATLY appreciated, but also showed Carilion values of COMMITMENT, COMPASSION and COLLABORATION!
Candi continues to be a valued asset to our department and for this hospital and organization!
