CFMH Earns EPA's Energy Star Certification for energy efficiency!
You may remember this article highlighting the sustainability work Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital is doing, and this write-up of their 2021 Sustainability Hero Award. And all of this work has paid off! In 2022, CFMH earned the EPA's Energy Star certification after achieving an Energy Star score of 76, meaning that it is more energy efficient than 76% of similar properties nationwide. The next time you visit, check out the blue label on display at the entrance - it represents proven, verified, superior energy performance over a 12-month period.
This certification was possible because of the hard work of the CFMH Engineering & Maintenance team. On average, Energy Star certified buildings use 35% less energy, cause 35% fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and are less expensive to operate than similar buildings - all without sacrifices to performance or comfort.
Thank you for your commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and the health of our environment and community!
