Cathy Jennings - Carilion Nursing - BEACON for the NATION!

It is not by chance that one of Nancy Agee's previous Presidential Award Winners is now taking the national stage.  It is a distinct honor to to reveal that Cathy D. Jennings, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC has been elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice (NAP) in Nursing.  A Distinguished Practitioner, Scholar or Policy Fellow within NAP is a very high honor that acknowledges outstanding achievements in the Field of Nursing.  Dr. Jennings will be inducted during a black tie Gala at the 2020 Annual Meeting and Forum in San Diego, California where she will be awarded the distinctive NAP medallion.

Dr. Jennings has tirelessly served the cardiac surgery program for 37 years at Carilion Clinic; growing it from infancy stage to a robust and thriving program saving hundreds of lives annually.   Many of you also know Cathy through her expert research skills and mentoring abilities.  She has shepherded many through the difficult challenges of a research project.  Cathy has comforted many in her lifetime and is a shining example of Carilion nursing at its best.  We are so proud to send her out to represent Carilion on the National stage.
