Ashley Carr goes the extra mile for a patient!

New River Valley Mental  Health discharged a special needs patient to his home which was several hours from the hospital.  He had limited cognitive ability and no money. A Medicaid cab was arranged.  The patient's mother called back several hours later in a panic because the cab dropped the patient off at a car dealership one hour away from his home.  Mother doesn't drive so she was unable to assist him.  Ashley immediately leapt into action, calling Medicaid to determine patient's location and then arranging for another cab to pick him up and take him to the proper address.  She then followed up with Medicaid to make sure that the patient or family wasn't billed for the trip.  Ashley insured that there was a safe outcome for the patient and mother was very appreciative.
