2019 Virginia Nurse of the Year Award Recipients

So proud of our Carilion nurses and the impact they make each and every day for our patients!!

I had the privilege of attending the 2019 March of Dimes - Virginia Nurse of the Year Event in Richmond on Friday, November 22nd. This was an incredible event! Out of 120 nurses nominated across the state of Virginia, 8 nurses were from Carilion. Of the 8, 3 were awarded 1st place out of 22 categories and 1 runner up. 

The Nurse of the Year winners include:

Lia Boggs - Pediatric Award Recipient - Winner

Lisa Dishner - Behavioral Health Award Recipient - Winner

Garrett Lawhorn - Women's Health Award Recipient - Winner

Amber Sawyer - Pediatric Award Recipient - Runner-up
