Learning to Manage Change
Change can be challenging for many reasons.
- The pace seems to only grow faster.
- Concurrent changes feel like the norm rather than the outlier. Facilities, technology, organizational structure, policies and procedures are just some of changes we are experiencing in 2025 - 2026.
- Change can feel negative for many reasons—perhaps we believe the benefits to others are greater than the benefits to the team or self, or we may feel uncomfortable being fully competent in an area one day and back to being a newbie the next.
To help prepare individuals and leaders to successfully understand and adapt to change, Carilion Clinic is offering four e-learning courses. We strongly encourage staff and leaders to take these courses in July - August to help support one another during Nexus. The courses are not specific to Nexus. They are critical this summer because they help us learn a consistent model for change, including roles, language and tasks, that we can apply to Nexus and other organizational changes.
