Who Is in These Historic Photos?
We're actively working on collecting, identifying, digitizing and archiving thousands of photographs from Carilion’s history.
Preserving and maintaining our history is the best way to know where we’ve been and how far we’ve come and to appreciate all the health care workers that came before us.
But there are mysteries in our archives—and you can help us solve them!
There are thousands of unidentified photos in our collection. If you’ve worked at Carilion for a long time, if your parents or grandparents work(ed) in the medical field or if you’ve lived in the area for many years, you might be able to tell us what’s in some of the unidentified photos.
For this project, we need your response only if you know what or who is in the photos…it’s not a contest to see who can guess the right answer. Because we don’t know the answer!
If you recognize any of the following photos, please comment below. We’re looking for any of the following for each photo:
- Year or time frame
- Name(s)
- Location
- Back stories

You can help! We haven't been able to identify the people, places and things in some photos.
Do you know who is in the photos below and what they were doing?
