Together We Thrive: Get to Know Our 5 Employee Resource Groups

Submitted by eapullin on

Our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve starts with our own Carilion community—our employees and colleagues. To foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and supported, we are proud to support 5 employee-led Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

These groups provide a confidential space for sharing experiences, nurturing professional development, and building companionship. Whether you identify with a group’s focus or join as an ally, ERGs are a vital part of our culture.

Our ERGs also make a meaningful impact beyond the workplace. Through community outreach, education, and advocacy, they help strengthen Carilion’s connection to the diverse communities we serve, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in healthcare.

Join an Upcoming ERG Visit!

We’re bringing ERG engagement directly to our regional hospitals. Join us at an upcoming visit to learn more, connect with members, and get involved.

  • Friday, April 10: CNRV
  • Monday, April 13: CGCH
  • Tuesday, April 14: CRBH
  • Monday, April 20: CTCH

All visits are 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the cafeteria at each hospital.

Our ERGs

Accessibility Advocates ERG

Our Accessibility Advocates ERG champions a barrier-free workplace, fostering inclusion for employees with disabilities and their allies. The group drives awareness, influences accessible design, and supports professional growth, ensuring everyone can thrive regardless of ability. Join them in building a truly accessible, equitable, and empowered environment for all.

LGBTQ+ Allies ERG

Our LGBTQ+ Allies ERG fosters an inclusive, safe workplace where everyone can thrive. Members provide a space for collaboration, education, and advocacy, supporting our LGBTQ+ colleagues through active allyship. Join the group in building a culture of belonging and pride for all employees.

Military Community ERG
The Military Community ERG fosters camaraderie and professional growth for service members, veterans, and allies within our organization. The group bridges military and civilian cultures through networking, mentorship, and career development, empowering veteran employees to leverage their unique skills to thrive in the workplace.

Multicultural ERG

This group brings together employees from varied backgrounds to share experiences, promote professional growth, and celebrate differences. It fosters an environment where diverse perspectives are honored, and underrepresented voices in our community and healthcare system are amplified.

Women’s ERG

The Women’s ERG fosters an inclusive workplace, offering a supportive community to connect, mentor, and empower all women. Members focus on professional development, networking, and addressing career challenges, fostering a culture where every member can share experiences and thrive.
