Honoring Our Caregivers in Their Cancer Journey
In honor of World Cancer Day, Virginia Tech and the KayYow Foundation recognized five of our remarkable employees at various stages in their cancer journeys—Beth Bankston, Julie Wright, Donna Shelor, Kristin Price, and Susan Sine—at the Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball game on Sunday, Feb. 2. They took center court at halftime to accept a $25,000 grant from the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which will support Carilion’s Breast Diagnostic Care Initiative by providing transportation and lodging for women in need during treatment.

Survivors, caretakers, and those who have lost loved ones—please share acts of kindness or support that made a difference to you in the comments below.
