Supporting Patient Recovery Through Your Generosity
At Carilion, we believe that quality care extends beyond our walls. For many patients, essential medications and equipment are critical to their recovery, but many patients can struggle to afford them. Our Patient Care Fund addresses this challenge, ensuring that patients have what they need to successfully recover at home.
Since 2014, the generosity of our employees has made a remarkable difference. Together, 1,367 Carilion employees gave $258,752, supporting 3,194 patients with necessary medications and medical equipment.
In the past year alone, 272 employees have contributed $36,246 to our Patient Care Fund, directly helping patients return to their families and their daily lives with the supplies they need to heal.

The Patient Care Fund provides treatment-related support such as prescriptions or transportation for patients who need it. Assistance from this fund can help decrease days spent in the hospital for non-medical reasons and prevent readmissions.
Since 2014—when the Patient Care Fund was created—1,367 employee donors have raised $258,752 to support 3,194 of our patients.
