Senior Vice President Donna Littlepage To Retire

Donna Littlepage, Senior Vice President of Accountable Care Strategies, will retire on Oct. 4.
She began her career in 1989 as controller for Giles Memorial Hospital. After transitioning into a role as Radford Community Hospital chief financial officer, she helped lead efforts to increase patient-focused care, integrate St. Albans into Carilion and build a new hospital that today has grown into our campus at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
Her responsibilities pivoted to a system role in 1996 as the director of Budget, Reimbursement and Tax. The next year Donna became director of Finance for Carilion Healthcare Corp with the integration of the Blue Ridge Primary Care group into Carilion Health System. She was central to incorporating physicians into our healthcare enterprise.
Donna became vice president of Finance for CRMH, CFMH and the Carilion physician group in 2001. She played an important leadership role in Carilion Health System’s transition to a physician-led clinic model. Donna also had a critical role in development of our patient-centered medical homes and efforts in value-based payer strategies, moving into her current role as senior vice president in 2014. She additionally served as the founding CFO of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, navigating the complex and innovative aspects of its financial requirements, which resulted in the school’s accreditation and an inaugural class of new medical students in 2010.
Donna has, at one time or another, served in financial or operational leadership for every company and service area across Carilion. Outside the organization, Donna’s contributions to organizations and causes at the local, state and national level have elevated the reputation of Carilion and made her a regular member of panels, committees and boards that serve the needs of our community and our industry.
"Donna embodies servant leadership and is a true reflection of our Carilion values," said Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Don Halliwill. "I will miss working with her, and I know many of you will feel the same. I’m happy for Donna to start her new life chapter and I know we will continue to see her involved in our communities and our healthcare industry."
Donna Littlepage, Senior Vice President of Accountable Care Strategies, will retire on Oct. 4.
Donna has been with Carilion since 1989 and has served in leadership roles across the system.
