See What Your Coworkers are Grateful for This Year

In November, we asked what you are grateful for this year. 

Here are just a few of the responses:

• Keosha Smith, RN with inpatient Psychiatry at CRMH: "I am thankful for defeating the odds, currently in remission from Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer and I will see my daughter graduate high school!"
• Niccolette Blach, healthcare administrative associate with Cardiology in Roanoke: "I am thankful for the smooth transition moving to Virginia from Florida four months ago! My husband and I were able to move up here with our pets with peace of mind knowing we both secured jobs at Carilion months before the move. Virginia has been very kind to us and it is a positively beautiful place to live. We are definitely blessed this year."
• Kate Henley, MedCom specialist with the ED at CNRV: "This season I am most thankful for all the nurses, doctors, and CA's that I work with in the ED here at CNRV. We have a great overnight staff here and I really like how we all work together to help our patients.  Without the entire staff working together we would not be able to help our patients."
• Cristal Conners, pharmacy tech at CRMH: "I'm thankful for the hero I'll never get to meet. The young man who chose to be an organ donor and saved my life. I've had 6 years with my son that I wouldn't have had without his incredible gift."
• Ed Ratzell, Dining Services manager at Riverside: "This year I am thankful for my team that helped make my transition into my current position a breeze, keep everyday fun and a joyful experience, my leadership that allowed it to happen and continue to support me. I am grateful for all of the time I get to enjoy the company of my grandson, daughter, wife and dog."
• Jefferson Freed, paramedic transport specialist with Life-Guard: "Thankful for my faith, my family, and my job! Thanks for the reminder to reflect in gratitude."

We randomly selected 10 people to receive a #CarilionProud tumbler. Here are the 10 recipients and what they said they are grateful for:

• Chelsi Williams, administrative associate with Business Consulting: "I'm thankful for the time I've been able to spend with my extended family!"
• Jennifer Stewart, sonographer with Radiology Services at CGCH: "I am thankful for my health, my family and my awesome co-workers."
• Katharina Keys, Mental Health therapist in Roanoke: "I am thankful this year for growth. Growth of our department, our patients, and our community."
• Stephanie Defilippis, RN with the Infusion Center at CRMH: "I'm grateful for the season and to be able to be with family and help others when needed!"
• Hamid Hussain, Materials Management specialist at CRMH: "The people who show kindness even on their hardest days."
• Taylon Jessie, healthcare administrative associate at CNRV: "I am EXTREMELY Thankful for Carilion giving me the opportunity to move here from Indiana and become part of this organization and I am even more so thankful for my clinic and how we are a FAMILY here."
• Ashley Phillips, RN with Orthopaedics in Roanoke: "I am so thankful for my husband and children and extended family. I'm so blessed with a bio daughter, age 16. A step son, age 21, a 2nd step son, age 12 and a step daughter, age 9. This life is crazy sometimes but i love them all so much, its so worth it all!"
• Evelyne Holingue, gift shop representative at CRMH: "I am thankful for my small team at the Gift Shop. I am also thankful for every Carilion employee who visits the Gift Shop. Thanks to all of them days go by fast and I'm amazed to realize that the Holiday Season is upon us. Another reason to be thankful."
• Sarah Young, claims services consultant with Legal Services: "I am thankful for a wonderful work family."
• Jessica Houff, administrative coordinator with Inpatient Therapy at CRMH: "I am thankful for all my work families as well as my big personal families. I am grateful to have so many great individuals in my life!"
