Creating a Safe Care Continuum for Persons Who Inject Drugs:

Dr. Robert Trestman, M.D., Ph.D., tested and incorporated patient-centered evidence-based practices, which optimized inpatient resource utilization during a severe nursing shortage. The initiative saved 407 patient days, creating space for treating 74 new patients and a positive revenue of $602,040 in 9 months.
