New Community Grant Cycle Launches This Spring
We are committed to improving the health of the communities we serve by addressing key health needs identified through our triennial Community Health Assessments (CHAs). One of the many ways we fulfill this commitment is through targeted grants to nonprofit organizations across our region that share our mission. We regularly review funding requests that support community health improvement programs.
This year, we’re enhancing our process by combining our twice-yearly cycle into one annual grant cycle each spring. Funding decisions will still depend on available resources and the expected impact on priorities identified by the CHA, but there will be a stronger emphasis on how projects align with specific outcome goals and metrics.
Some of these new process changes include:
- Funding projects that address chronic disease, mental health, substance use, and a subset of social determinants of health.
- Funding projects with discrete goals and metrics. Preference will be given to projects that focus on individuals or populations experiencing health-related social needs.
- Selecting at least 1 project goal that best fits applicants' work. Each goal includes standardized metrics; applicants will be required to report on at least 1 of those metrics.
We welcome feedback from organizations throughout this process and are excited to strengthen our partnerships and support the important work being done across our communities. Future updates to the grant process include adopting software that will streamline the application process and improve reporting.
