Leadership Changes: New Vice Presidents
Tracy Clouser has been hired as the vice president of the Communications, Marketing and Planning (CMP) department.
Tracy brings over 30 years of experience in creating strategic marketing and communications initiatives that will help elevate the Carilion brand and reputation and drive business results. In her previous role as assistant vice president of Marketing and Brand Strategy for AdventHealth's West Florida Division, she had strategic oversight and execution of all marketing and brand initiatives in the division and was instrumental in its growth.
Before joining AdventHealth, Tracy developed and implemented strategic integrated marketing, communications and development initiatives for health and human services organizations such as Shriners Hospitals for Children and Easter Seals Florida. She also served on multiple boards and service organizations in the community.
Tracy was born and raised in Virginia. She holds a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.
For the past year and a half, Amy Hoots-Hendrix and Chris Turnbull, senior directors in the Marketing and Communications department, led the department during the search for a vice president.

Tracy began on June 5.
Hunter Choate, vice president of Medicine/Clinical Operations, has agreed to serve as interim vice president of Clinical Advancement and Patient Safety (CAPS), in addition to his current role.
As vice president of CAPS, Hunter will partner with chief quality officer Suzy Kraemer, M.D., to oversee Clinical Advancement and Patient Safety, work alongside Emergency Department chair John Burton, M.D., and the Risk Management team, and will lead Guest and Volunteer Services.
Hunter joined Carilion in 2019 as a senior director and has been vice president of Medicine/Clinical Operations since last year. He received a B.S.N. and M.S.N. from the University of Virginia and a D.N.P. from George Washington University.
