It's Carilion Proud Week: Thanks For All You Do

Submitted by abshaver on

A message from President and CEO Steve Arner:

This week is Carilion Proud Week, and we have a lot to be proud of—including approval of our kidney transplant program! I’m grateful for everything you do for our patients and our communities. And I’m not the only one.

You may remember Meg Burrow, a Carilion Children’s patient with a rare genetic condition who passed away last year. Watch the video below to hear her mother Meredith offer thanks to the many Carilion employees who cared for Meg. You can also watch a longer (6-minute) video on our YouTube channel.

This week, you’ll see digital billboards and ads in local media featuring a few of our front-line employees. We’re also kicking off a new Inside Carilion series featuring Q&As with employees so you can learn more about your colleagues across the system and how they contribute to our mission. Check Inside Carilion this week to read the first installment. If you want to recommend someone for this series, let the Corporate Communications team know

Leaders across the system have activities planned to celebrate Carilion Proud Week—reach out to your leader to learn more. And be sure to enter our Carilion Proud prize drawings and RSVP for one of the employee appreciation baseball games this summer.

Whether you’re greeting our neighbors as they seek care from us, planning the Nexus implementation this October, conducting novel research, delivering supplies where they’re needed throughout our system, or caring for our patients in our clinics and hospitals, I’m thankful you’re on our team. I’m proud to be a Carilion employee since 1996, and it’s an honor to serve with you.

Steve
