Important RQI Reminders

The deadline to complete your quarterly Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) learning modules is coming up! To maintain your American Heart Association certification, it’s important to finish all the required e-learning modules and skills activities by Wednesday, Dec. 31.  

All progress on modules in Workday will be lost if they are not completed by Dec. 31. If you postpone finishing your quarterly RQI learning modules until Jan. 1 or later, you risk losing any progress you've made so far.

As a reminder, Basic Life Support (BLS) modules must be complete for Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications to be active with the American Heart Association. If you have incomplete BLS modules, you will receive longer BLS, ALS, and PALS modules in January.

RQI Science Update

The 2025 AHA science update launched in RQI on Oct. 22, with modules assigned in Workday. Based on the part of RQI you finished before Oct. 22, you will receive the update in 1 of 3 ways: 

• If you completed the RQI module in its entirety before Oct. 22, you will receive the abbreviated science update in January. 
• If you completed the RQI cognitive assessment before Oct. 22 (but not the skills portion) you will be prompted to complete the abbreviated science update before the skills portion can be completed. The science update is due Dec. 31, 2025. 
• If you did not complete your modules by Oct. 22, you will receive the science update in the new RQI module. 

The abbreviated science update takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. 

The quarterly RQI requirement ensures that you are up to date on the latest resuscitation protocols and best practices to deliver high-quality, lifesaving CPR during critical situations. Completing these modules on time also ensures compliance with certification standards.
