Groundbreakers: Organizational Changes

Fred Greear, CFA, has been promoted to vice president and chief investment officer.

In 2015, the Office of Investments was formed to oversee management and decision-making for our two investment portfolios, under the direction of the finance committee and board of directors. Fred was hired as our director of investments. Prior to joining Carilion, he worked for Huntington Ingalls and the Pension Boards – United Church of Christ, managing their pension plans. In addition, his experience includes roles in New York with Cohen & Steers Capital Management and Lord Abbett & Co. 

Today, the Office of Investments includes a team of five experienced and talented investment staff who manage our operating and pension portfolios.
