It’s time to share your creativity! After a three-year hiatus, the Employee Art Show is back and we want to see your best artwork.

Registration is now open; register your artwork by March 15 to compete for a cash prize. Prizes will total nearly $3,500!

About the Employee Art Show

The Employee Art Show is an initiative of the Dr. Robert L.A. Keeley Healing Arts Program in partnership with The National Arts Program®. The theme for this year’s show is “Bridging Healing,” representing the connections built in the process of healing between patients and healthcare workers, family members or within the community.

All Carilion employees, volunteers, retirees and immediate family members are invited to participate and compete for cash prizes.

Artwork will be publicly displayed April 18 – May 10 in the lobby atrium at CRMH. It will be judged by art professionals. A reception and awards ceremony will be held on Friday, April 18 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the south lobby.

Answers to these frequently asked questions may help.

  1. Does the art piece have to be brand new?
No. Your work can be up to 3 years old.

  2. Does it matter that I'm not a professional?
No. There are three adult categories to choose from: Amateur, Intermediate and Professional.

  3. Does a person have to be an employee to register?
No. We'll accept art from volunteers, retirees and any family members of employees.

  4. Are there requirements around my artwork?
A couple sizing and framing requirements are explained in the registration form. While this year's theme, Bridging Healing, serves as a guide, it can be interpreted in many ways. Art will not be turned away and we won't ask for justification around the theme. Participants are just encouraged to think about what the theme means to them and their role in the healthcare system.

  5. When do I have to submit my artwork?
    There are 3
drop off days from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 1212 Third Street SW, Roanoke, VA: Tuesday, March 18; Thursday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 25. Email lmlinger@carilionclinic.org and
vmaluwa@carilionclinic.org to coordinate a drop off time, if one of those days doesn't work.

  6. Are there prizes?
Yes!! A judging panel will choose a series of winners who will receive cash prizes. The award reception is Friday, April 18 at CRMH. Registrants will receive an invitation with details. You don't have to be present to win.
