Email-to-Fax Is Changing: Start Using @efaxds.com Now
Carilion’s email-to-fax service is transitioning from the @fax.carilionclinic.org domain to @efaxds.com. The new domain is active now, so if you send faxes by email you should make the switch today.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 2, @fax.carilionclinic.org will no longer work. Anyone who has not transitioned by that date will need to begin using @efaxds.com to avoid disruption when sending faxes by email.
Sending a Fax Using eFax
Sending a fax through the new domain works much like sending a regular email. Enter the recipient’s fax number followed by @efaxds.com in the To field (example: 18885551212@efaxds.com).
Documents can be attached to the email, and the subject line and message body can be completed as needed. The email body becomes the fax cover sheet. After the fax is sent, eFax will send a confirmation email with the result of the transmission.
For complete step-by-step instructions, download the Fax from email using eFax job aid at the bottom of this page.
Make the Switch Before Nov. 2
If you currently send faxes by email, start using @efaxds.com now rather than waiting until the Nov. 2 cutoff. Making the change early will help ensure a smooth transition and prevent interruptions to email-to-fax workflows.
