Crystal Spring Tower Update

If you work in Roanoke, you've undoubtedly noticed the Crystal Spring Tower taking shape with a new pedestrian bridge over Jefferson Street. The first phase of the opening will be the expanded Emergency Department, scheduled to open on April 15.

• The ED will have more than 125 total beds, including an expanded observation unit.
• Dedicated pediatric experience with specialized triage, waiting room and patient rooms.
• The only dedicated pediatric trauma bay in the region.

The Cardiovascular Institute is scheduled to open in July. This expansion will bring many of our cardiovascular services to a centralized location and will house:

• 3 Cardiothoracic surgery operating rooms
• 2 Endovascular operating rooms
• 2 General vascular operating rooms
• 6 Cardiac catheterization labs
• 3 Electrophysiology labs
• Additional and advanced imaging
• The new tower will also house our Heart Failure Clinic
