CRMH Crosswalk Updates Beginning June 6

Sidewalk scaffolding around the West Pavilion of CRMH is nearly complete, and the crosswalk at the intersection of Belleview and Hamilton Terrace has reopened.

This scaffolding marks the initial phase of work ahead of larger maintenance to the West Pavilion (the brick tower of CRMH nearest Belleview Avenue). As plans are finalized, there will be more changes to traffic patterns around the hospital. Teams will provide additional signage and safety measures ahead of future changes to keep employees, patients and visitors safe throughout the project. We’ll provide updates on Inside Carilion as details become available. 

As a reminder, the tunnel from the Terrace View Parking Garage remains an open and convenient alternative to crossing Belleview Avenue. If you are crossing Belleview, please use caution and follow available wayfinding.

Upcoming Changes

You can expect the below changes to pedestrian traffic over the course of the next week:

1. Friday, June 6, the crosswalk at the intersection of Belleview and Hamilton Terrace has reopened. The West Entrance of the front lobby and surrounding sidewalks will close (marked red) as scaffolding is erected, and pedestrians will follow the marked pathway to the South Entrance of the main lobby (marked green) to enter the facility.

2. Beginning Tuesday, June 10, the South Entrance of the front lobby will close as scaffolding is erected (marked red). The West Entrance will reopen and will be accessible via a marked safety route (marked green).

Toward the end of next week (around June 12 or 13), scaffolding will be completed, and regular crosswalk traffic patterns will resume. Thank you for your patience as we complete these changes, and please allow extra time as you come to and from CRMH.
