Care That Connects Us

Carilion Proud Week is May 10 – 16, a special time of celebrating and recognizing you—the heart of care our community counts on. 

You prepare. You adapt. You step in when needed. You make breakthroughs in the lab and at the bedside. From one shift to the next, you check in, hand off, and follow through—showing up for one another and for our patients. 

Your dedication carries our work forward—into the lives of the people we serve. Let's celebrate that!  

The following are ways you can get in on the fun this Carilion Proud Week.  

Prize Drawings

Enter to win one of more than 100 prizes during Carilion Proud Week, including Carilion Proud swag, gift bundles, and tickets to local events! Winners will be drawn on Friday, May 15 at 12 p.m.

Scheduled Events During Carilion Proud Week: 

Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital:

• Thursday, May 14: Boot-Scootin' Lunch and Wellness Roundup, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Administration Building Conference Room and tents outside (weather permitting); and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the dining room 

Carilion Giles Community Hospital:

• Tuesday, May 12: Employee Lunch, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., outside of the cafeteria (weather permitting) and 7 - 8:30 p.m., in the cafeteria 
• Thursday, May 14: Ice Cream Social, 2 - 3 p.m. and 8:30 - 9:30 p.m., in the cafeteria  

Carilion New River Valley Medical Center: 

• Friday, May 15: Carilion Proud Cook-Out, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Fireside Conference Room/outdoors (weather permitting) and 8 - 9 p.m., Fireside Conference Room. 

Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital: 

• Tuesday, May 12: Breakfast Break—grab a breakfast to-go box, 8 - 10 a.m., Main Lobby (3rd Floor)
• Wednesday, May 13: Afternoon Break—snag sweet treats for an afternoon pick-me-up and snap a photo with your coworkers, 2 - 4 p.m., Main Lobby (3rd Floor)

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital: 

• Monday, May 11: Breakfast Break—grab a breakfast to-go box,  7 - 10 a.m., 6th Floor Auditorium
• Thursday, May 14: Afternoon Break—snag sweet treats for an afternoon pick-me-up and snap a photo with your coworkers, 2 - 5 p.m., 6th Floor Auditorium

Nights at the Ballfield in June

Mark your calendars for the upcoming employee recognition nights at the ballfield in June:  

Carilion Night with the Pulaski River Turtles  

• Friday, June 19
• Gates open at 5:30 p.m., game starts at 6:35 p.m.
• Employees can bring up to three guests and each person will receive a complimentary concessions voucher.

Carilion Night with the Salem RidgeYaks 

• Friday, June 26 
• Gates open at 5:30 p.m., game starts at 6:35 p.m. 
• Employees can bring up to three guests and a picnic meal will be included.

Share Your Photos!

Carilion Proud Week is the perfect time to get together with co-workers and celebrate all you do for each other and our patients. If you take pictures during your planned activities, submit them and you’ll be included in a photo gallery and possibly on our social media channels.

Before your meeting starts, select Background filters, which is an option right below the video image.

Need help updating your cover image? 

• To download the banner, click on the link above and right-click on the backdrop to Save image as.
• On your LinkedIn homepage, click on “Me” in the top banner, then View profile.
• Click the pencil icon underneath your cover image.
• In the pop-up, click the same pencil icon (or the camera icon if you haven’t yet uploaded a banner).
• Select the image you want to use from your computer.
• Click Apply to save the new cover image.
